Hey kiddos! Our favorite comic masterminds at New Movement Theater have entered the blog-o-verse. Get. Excited.
We’ve featured founder Chris Trew here before, in fact, you may remember him as Royal Bluberry. (Link Warning: Careful For Children’s Eyes.) So, we think it is high time we put the spotlight on another TNM favorite, Tami Nelson.
Here is an excerpt from an illuminating interview with Tami written by Mandy Spivey:
What has been your favorite improv scene at TNM?
Easy. It’s a scene that happens about once every 8 weeks. It’s always in a level 1 class. It happens around week 4 level 1. Something clicks in the room and shifts everyone in the class from kinda-freaked-out-about-doing-improv to totally-lost-in-the-moment-improvisers and two students COMPLETELY NAIL a super brilliant scene. And then the world is a better place.
What do you think is the secret to fun improv?
OK, I don’t usually tell secrets but I will this one time because I know that this is just between you and me and you would never share this with anyone else ever, right? Go to Full Post for the rest of her answer and many more!
For the entire entry go to the TNM blog which also happens to be full of pertinent information about classes, shows, and a variety of posts on their many in-house adventures.
